As we know WordPress requires a username and a password, and sometimes we may need to change to password for whatever reasons we have. And this is article will be teaching us the ways of resetting your wordpress admin password.

The first way to change your wordpress admin password is through wordpress. The steps of how to do this shall be detailed below.

STEP 1: Go to your any of your wordpress domain and add “/wp-admin” at the end of the URL which would lead you to the login page. Input your credentials and afterwards click “LogIn”.

STEP 2: If you manage to successfully log in you will be redirected at the dashboard of the wordpress page and from there look at the left-hand side menu find the “Users” and hover over it and click on “Your profile”.

STEP 3: The new page should load and scroll down to the bottom. Find the “About Yourself” and from there look for the “New Password” and “Repeat New Password” in both of the text field associated to them type your desired new password and make sure the new desired password.

Note: Make sure that the password strength is Strong upon deciding for your new password.

Afterwards click the “Update Profile” and you should be done. You have now managed to change your password from wordpress itself.

You can also reset wordpress admin password through Cpanel that is associated with your BigRock account which is the second way to do this. The steps on how to achieve this shall be listed below.

STEP 1: First access your Cpanel login page and from there you will be of the username and password. Login your credentials.

STEP 2: Once you successfully managed to login, you should be redirected towards the cPanel dashboard.

Look for the “Softaculous Apps Installer” section, after finding it.  Look for the “WordPress” from that section. Once you found the WordPress icon click on it.

STEP 3: Below the “Current Installation” lists at the right hand side look for the “edit details” icon and click on it.

STEP 4: You will be redirected at the “Edit Details page” in which next you will look for the “Database name” and copy it to a clipboard or remember it if you could.

Go back to the main cPanel dashboard, in this page you could go back if you scroll down and look for the “Go Back” link below and that should redirect you page the main dashboard.

STEP 5:  Upon arriving at the cPanel dashboard again, look for another section called “Databases” from there find the icon for “phpMyAdmin” and click on it.

STEP 6: You will be redirected towards the phpMyAdmin and at left side of it look for the same database name as you copied/remembered from STEP 4.

Upon finding it click on it and look for the table called “wp_users” and click on “Edit” next to the list of usernames that would appear.

STEP 7: You will once again be redirected to another page where you can finally edit the admin password for your desired new admin password.

Find the “user_pass” and edit the “value” text field next to the next dropdownbox besides the “user_pass”. Make sure you are editing beside the user_pass and under the Value.

Once you are done, you click on the button “Go” below and that should do it. You have managed to edit the admin password for your wordpress account.

Resetting your WordPress admin password doesn’t seem so hard and complicated now isn’t it.
